Latin Fury! Song Spotlight: “Bailamos”

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

The Latin Fury! Song Spotlight Series takes a closer look at the songs that are part of the show.

This song spotlight is on “Bailamos”, which is also featured on the new Latin Fury! EP, “Rojo”.

Written by Mark Taylor and Paul Barry (who wrote the Cher smash “Believe”), “Bailamos” is a Latin pop smash that was brought to the forefront by Enrique Iglesias first on his Spanish album “Cosas del Amor” and later on the soundtrack to the 1999 Will Smith movie, “Wild Wild West”. The song was instrumental to Iglesias signing a record deal with Interscope Records.

“Bailamos” is Spanish for “We Dance” and we love it as part of the Latin Fury! set because it has a confident and romantic energy that is well-suited to the flavour and emotion of our show.

Here’s a live video of “Bailamos” from the Latin Fury! PBS Special.
