Latin Fury Song Spotlight: "Hero"

The Latin Fury! Song Spotlight Series takes a closer look at the songs that are part of the show.

This song spotlight is on “Hero”!

With over 8 million copies sold, “Hero” is not only one of the definitive Enrique Iglesias songs, but one of the most popular singles ever.

Originally released on September 3rd, 2001, the song came from Iglesias’ high school days, but with the timing of its release coming just days before the 9/11 attacks, its themes of heroism and love made it universally acclaimed as a signature song for the moment. Iglesias would perform the song a few weeks later with Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Cheryl Crow as part of a tribute concert.

Charting in 24 countries and hitting #1 in 11 of them, the song proved to be a massive international success and a defining song for Enrique Iglesias that continues to show up on film and television productions like Smallville, Glee, The X-Factor, and Dancing with the Stars.

We love the wonderful message of “Hero” and its beautiful musical delivery, which is why it has a permanent place in the Latin Fury! live music catalogue.
