The Latin Fury! Song Spotlight Series takes a closer look at the songs that are part of the show.
This song spotlight is on “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before”, which is also featured on the Latin Fury! EP, “Morado”.
“To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” was originally co-written by Hal David and Albert Hammond. The latter released it as part of his 1975 album, “99 Miles From L.A.” but it wasn’t until 1984 that Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson teamed up for a new version of the song that it became a #1 hit on country charts and a Top 5 favourite on the Billboard Hot 100. The success of this duet made Iglesias into a household name around the world and has also been covered by the likes of Tom Jones, Alanis Morissette, and Engelbert Humperdinck.
“To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before” is a modern gem that is recognized as a staple at concerts from Julio Iglesias. It was only natural for it to become part of the Latin Fury! family and one of our setlist favourites as well.
